FASTING TIL 2010

OUR CHURCH (P4SQUARE) Creative Arts department is teaming up between now and the end of the year. We are going to fast and pray one day a week till the end of the year. Here some background:

Here are some REASONS why Foursquare Arts is going to fast one day a week for the rest of the 2009 year. If you do not already know of the
power and importance of fasting, here are some very important facts:

WHY?
* Fasting was an expected discipline in both the Old and New Testament eras. For example, Moses fasted at least two recorded forty-
day periods. Jesus fasted 40 days and reminded His followers to fast, "when you fast," not if you fast.
* Fasting and prayer can restore the loss of the "first love" for your Lord and result in a more intimate relationship with Christ.
* Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God (Psalm 35:13; Ezra 8:21). King David said, "I humble myself through fasting."
* Fasting enables the Holy Spirit to reveal your true spiritual condition, resulting in brokenness, repentance, and a transformed life.
*The Holy Spirit will quicken the Word of God in your heart and His truth will become more meaningful to you!
* Fasting can transform your prayer life into a richer and more personal experience.
* Fasting can result in a dynamic personal revival in your own Life-and make you a channel of revival to others.
* Fasting and prayer are the only disciplines that fulfill the requirements of II Chronicles 7:14.

WHAT?
Pray for worship at Foursquare and the life-changing power for God's presence.
Pray for the spirit of unity of our teams. The church unified is lethal church.
Pray for creative and innovative ways to reach the lost and build the church.
Pray for the nations

HOW?

Prayer Requests 9/18/2009

PRAYER FOR TODAY
1. Tomieka is going to be having another back surgery on the 28th @ 3pm, she will be Tacoma General and will be in the hospital for a few days. Please pray for her and this surgery. Recovery time for this surgery is 3-5 months, so if anyone can help out with meals, or other tasks…please let me know and we can coordinate. Would like to make sure our team has covered the first week with meals if we can. Be a great help to her and Pablo. Thank you!
2. Prayer for Amy & Jeremy Nelson please—they are in the middle of a hard season right now with Jeremy’s Father passing away (very young age 52) and some financial hurdles. Please pray for peace upon their family and that their faith will be stronger now than ever. That God will guide them through this season and give them the strength to put their faith before emotion.
3. Prayer for healing for Aaron. His Doctor has put him on a medical leave to try and get his treatment plan worked out and healing. Please pray for strength as he is going through this intense program and for wisdom in some tough decisions right now.
4. Please pray for Warren—it’s on my heart this week that he needs us all to rally around him Peggy in prayer.
